One of the guys at work had his photo snapped today when he was sitting on a chair at a primary school he was doing some work at.

The big bugger looks hillarious sitting on this little chair. He said I could blog the picture if I hid his face (he is a dentist you know!). :P

240 Thousand Free from Three

OK, now this is hilarious. Stick with me on this one, it's worth it.

I have one of the 3 Skype Phones, which is basically a cellphone that has the Skype service installed on it. The result being you can use the 3 mobile broadband network to make free Skype phone calls. The handset is a regular prepaid cellphone service also, but I don't use it for that.

Anyway, the point of the matter is this. I just recharged the service to have some credit for the next two months, which is all I need to be able to make free Skype calls. :)

I logged into the 3 webpage using the handset to check the account balance, and noticed that it said I had 240 THOUSAND, yes that is 240,000 free SMS's remaining!!!

Now, I know I am supposed to get 240 free SMS's for the recharge period. I figured the webpage was just displaying the value wrong. So I sent an SMS and checked again... 239,999 remaining. OMG!!! One more SMS just to be sure... 239,998. WOO HOOOOO!!!

Now, do the math. 3 charges 25 cents per SMS. 240 thousand SMS's are therefore valued at $60K. That's right, SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. (insert Dr Evil laugh here).

Sound Asleep

The Great Wall of China

Climbed the Great Wall of China today, amongst other things. Dropped my camera on the wall, broke it. :( Snapped a pic or two from the top with my cellphone though, sorry about the quality.

Was a bloody hard walk up that mountain, that's for sure. :(

Went into the city today to do the tourist thing. Did not really get to see much because no one spoke English. I had a translation application on my PDA that helped a few times, but it was all just too hard. Spent some time walking along the mall when we eventually found it, and also went to take a look at the lake.

They're Back!

My parents have been away on holidays for a few weeks. They took little Junior with them, so it has been ages since I have seen him. Was good to have them all arrive back today. I was at their house waiting for them. ;)

Guild Dork

A workmate thought it would be funny to poke fun at another workmate when a jacket was delivered from his "geek club" professional guild. :P

He took a photo of the jacket and emailed it to the guy it was for, who was out on a client site. Threatened to sell it on eBay. (chuckle)

Little Sucker Moves

Am out at my sisters property today, and was hooning around the acreage on my nephews little 125cc motorbike. I am amazed at how much torque the little thing has. It gets up and moves, and wants to throw you off if you corner too hard.

My sisters boy had it slip out from under him not long after my sister took this pic of me riding it.

River Shrouded in Fog

Snapped this pic with my cellphone yesterday as my flight was descending into Sydney. It is very cool the way the rivers are hidden under fog. :)



Sitting at Sydney airport now waiting for my flight home. Battery is almost flat. I think will go torment my workmate for a while. :P

Hello Melbourne

Had to go to Melbourne today for work. There was a chance I would have to stay down here for more work, and have just found out that will now happen.

So, while I await the company booking accommodation and such like, I have set up shop at Starbucks on the corner of Bourke and Queen streets. Found me table with a nice view, a power point, and a crapload of caffeine. Have my folder of "work to do" with me, and I will now embed in and try to get craploads of work done.

Come visit me? I'll be here for hours. ;)

Work Rest and Play

Have had a busy week. For the long weekend just gone I spent some time visiting Fraser Island with a friend. We camped at Inskip Point up at Rainbow Beach, and then over at Fraser. Saw the lakes and the sand blows and such things.

Lake McKenzie is a gorgeous freshwater lake. It is so damn blue!!! Took heaps of pics up there, far too many to blog. But I will blog this one which I thought was very cute. Snapped a pic of my friend mid sentence. Don't recall exactly what she was saying, but I am sure it was something along the lines of "Stop bloody taking photos of me!". :P

Have been busy at work this week. Spent a few days in Lismore doing some wireless work at the uni down there. Off to Melbourne next week to do some more wireless work at a uni there. So much work to be done, so little time to do it.

Three weeks holiday coming up, week after next. Yay!!!

It's almost 4am. I have work early tomorrow, but I cannot get to sleep. :(

More of Darling Harbour

As requested, here is a composite picture of the individual exposures I merged into a HDR image using Photoshop. These exposures are two f/stops apart. Probably did not need 8 of them, might have done better with 4 of them 3 f/stops apart. Still trying to work these things out. :P
