Ho ho bloody ho!

Another Christmas day gone. Yay!

Did some of the family thing. My parents are away camping with my sister and her boi. I stayed at their place last night to care for the doggie.

A friend dropped over to spend some time with me before she goes away for work. Was good to see her again, and I am very sad that she will be gone for so long. Absence makes the heart grow fonder right? :|

Took my nan and my older sister for a drive down to where my parents are camping so that we could have Christmas lunch together. Was a very nice camping site they were at. Might try to get down again later this week and see them again.

Anyhow, merry Christmas to all those who care. :)

Damn Christmas Rush

See, there is another very good reason to hate Christmas. The rushing around! The whole business of having a million things to do and only a small amount of time to do them. :(

Work is so bloody busy. I have so much to do, and so much more that's not getting done! I just don't have enough hours in the day to do it all. It's really starting to get to me. The irony of being forced to take a few weeks leave is having to slave my ass off so hard before the leave starts that I am too bloody exhausted to enjoy the weeks off. (sigh)

I really don't like Christmas.

I miss loved ones. :(

He is a container lift driver!

Heh. Our operations manager had some fun this morning out at the shipping port driving around one of the big container lifting vehicles.

Was pretty amusing. He did not crash, which was good. But it was scary. I had to hold on REAL tight. :P

Tee hee. :P

Some more x-ray pics.

Here are a few more post-op x-rays of her leg and foot. Yeah yeah, enough already. I know! But they are VERY cool to look at. :P

Lala and Lola - An Epic Tale

Well, she is well enough to sit back in hospital and compose a MASTERPIECE of an email to send to all her family and friends. A very clever email, breaking the news of the accident in a way that causes as little alarm as possible.

Now, the email is very much a "full context" thing, and is so bloody entertaining, that I shall reproduce it here (with her permission of course) verbatim.

So with no further adieu, I give you the tale of Lala and Lola, which she so artistically titled "Vroom Vroom Ouch". :P

-----snip-----
Once upon a time there was a nice young lady (we shall call her Lala)...

She was very happy as she had just returned from a very successful and fun 5 years living in Englandia where she met many wonderful friends and saw many amazing things...

Upon her return to Ozzieland, Lala decided it was time to buy a new toy so she purchased a shiny motorcycle called Lola...

Together they were unstoppable...

They went everywhere together...
To the Gold Coast:

To Coffs Harbour:

Riding through the outback...

Sometimes, (in dangerous neighbourhoods) Lola even slept in the bedroom with Lala...

One day, Lala and Lola went on a ride through The Blue Mountains...
Lola loved the twisty smooth roads...

And Lala loved the big mountain scenery...

On the way home, just 2 mins from Lala & Lola's house, a young man driving a car decided not to look where he was going before changing lanes and smashed into Lala and Lola...

Lala got off lightly with only a broken tibia and fibula on her left leg...

And dislocated big and little toes, and mangled and mashed metatarsals on her other three toes of her right foot...

After 8 hours of surgery, a titanium rod and 4 screws in her left leg, and 4 wires in her right foot, and a really cool knee scar, Lala is on the mend...

But she has to wear silly green casts for the next 8 weeks, and will spend the next 3 months in rehabilitation...

Lola was not so lucky. She hit the ground hard and smashed into a nearby pole. Her fate is yet to be decided...

Lala is out of hospital on Thu and will be flying back to Brisbane to freeload off her family and friends for the next 3 months. All gifts gratefully received.

Love to all.
Lala

CLASSIC!!! :P She has done a wonderful job of breaking the bad news to her loved ones. I am very impressed.

Still very unfair that it happened to her. :(
