Meds are not stopping the pain anymore. :( It is nothing like the stabbing agonizing pain it was, but it is still quite painful and unpleasant.
Might need another visit to the doc methinks. Don't know when I will find the time though. :|

Morphine La La Land
I was set upon by agony! With no warning. One minute I am happy and well, the next minute I am in so much pain I am hardly able to remain conscious. My friend rushed me to hospital, and the emergency staff wasted no time putting morphine into me, even though I was saying no to it.
So, 6 hours of drips and morphine and X-Rays, the doctors say the pain is likely from my gallbladder (hey, they say its 50/50 when it comes to abdominal pain).
I started refusing morphine. Hate what it does to me, and knew they would not let me go if I could not manage the pain with stuff I can buy from a pharmacy. They let me go with the promise that I will take their letter to my GP and get an ultrasound to make sure I do not have any gallstones that were not showing up on the X-Rays.
My tummy is still very tender, and I still have the deep ache, but with the medication from the chemist the stabbing pains are kept to a minimum. Guess I will have to go see my doc and find out what's wrong. Hope I don't have to piss a brick! :(
Here is a pic my friend took when I was quite happily sedated on morphine. :P

The Granite Belt
My friend's time here is almost up. She will leave again soon, so I am trying to spend as much time going places and seeing things with her as possible. :)
We went down to Girraween National Park for the weekend. On the Saturday we climbed The Pyramid which is a massive granite monolith standing about 250m above the landscape. It was fantastic. :D
We camped overnight. We had a terrible time sleeping in the tent. She slept in the next morning. :P So we decided not to do the hikes to the other rocks, and instead drove around the park's 4WD track and saw some wonderful sites.
We exited the southern entrance of the park and lunched in Wallangarra. The town is pretty strange. It straddles the border exactly, with the surveyed border line cutting right through the town, with the Queensland side being called Wallangarra, and the New South Wales side being called Jennings. The town was huge in the late 1800's and early 1900's because it's train station had the NSW wide gauge rail coming into one side, and the QLD narrow gauge coming into the other. The train station is now a cafe and museum. Very nice place to visit. :)
We spent the afternoon driving around the 4WD tracks in the Sundown National Park. It was fantastic driving. We stopped at Red Rock Gorge. Spectacular views!!! :D
Stopped in at Stanthorpe on the way back for dinner, then made the long drive back arriving home about 9pm. All in all a good weekend.
Here are various pics from the weekend. Click for larger images. :)

Three monkies and a weekend.
Another day with my nieces and my friends kid sister. We had a ball. Played Monopoly last night and this morning. My youngest niece whooped our ass bad this morning. She dominated the game from the start, and totally OWNED everyone!!! Had heaps of fun. :P
We went to Jackpot Noodles for lunch. The food was delicious as always. The kids thought it would be funny to wear the hats I had laying around from Cisco Networkers parties. Was quite comical. :P
Spent the rest of the day going places and having fun. They have all gone home now. We are sitting on the couch watching TV with laptops on our laps now. What a pair. (laugh)
Anyhow, here are some pics. :P

Bogans!
I had my nieces yesterday, and a friend had a her kid sister, and in an effort to keep them all entertained, we got the idea to take them to the Yatala Drive-In theater. Yeah, amazing that there is even one left operating in this day and age.
It was very amusing to see the kids all rugged up in the back of the ute. Very very bogan! :P

Wide Awake
It is almost 3:30am, and I am wide awake. I woke at 8am yesterday, so have been awake quite some time. Spent most of the day outside being active, so I am quite tired. But I just can't get to sleep. I was keeping girlie awake methinks, so I will sit up and watch some Fox for a while. Maybe sleep will come soon.
We are going to go swimming tomorrow. Today? She is going to bring her kid sister and I am going to take my nieces. We are going to have a ball. I am so glad winter is over. There is so much more fun to have in the warm weather.
It is actually getting quite warm now. It is warm enough to start having the airconditioning on at home now. I think it is going to end up being a stinking hot summer this year.
My thoughts and emotions have been quite tame over the past week or two. My friend is having a very calming influence on me I think. It is difficult to be anything but happy around her, and she gives me an excuse to get out and about and do things that interest me.
Work is still quite stressful though. Too much to do with too little time to do it. That is the problem. Although we have a new operations manager starting on Monday, so hopefully he will be able to take some load off me, and find ways to make things easier. I am quite excited about him coming onboard. I am looking forward to working with him. :)
My face and head are really hurting tonight. I am not sure why it is so bad. I have not consumed any large amounts of caffeine or anything, so there really is no excuse for it. Maybe it's just because I am tired? What a crappy catch twenty two that is. The more pain I am in, the worse my nightmares seem to be. Then I get less sleep, and that in turn makes more pain. It is a very nasty negative feedback loop that I fear only medication can break. But I hate taking that medication. Gives me bad brain lag. :(
Anyhow, I am pretty thirsty, so I think I will go off and get a drink and then watch some Fox. Ciao. :)

A day off, mostly!
Had some net problems at work today. :( Had planned for the day off, but earlier in the week it was shaping up to me having to work today to catch up on much needed work. Well, without an Internet connection to the office that proved to be a little hard. So I took care of some work stuff from home, made sure everyone else was doing what needed to be done, then decided to go out and have lunch with a friend and enjoy the day. :)
We went out to Colleges Crossing and took a look around, then went out to Wivenhoe to look around. Oh man, is that dam empty!!! There was acres and acres of land available on the side of it. The water is WAYYYY low. Really impacts upon you how little water we have right now.
We went and had dinner at my sisters house. It was loads of fun. I think her and her boy are enjoying their week without the kids. :P
Anyhow. Here is a few nice pics from today. :) Click for larger pics.
