GPS Training Watch

Garmin: Forerunner 201

See, this thing is a good idea. That "Virtual Partner" concept is a great idea.

Working out with the Forerunner 201 means you're never alone in your personal training, because the unit provides a Virtual Partner™. This unique feature allows you to set your training goal by configuring your Virtual Partner’s pace and workout distance. You'll get a graphic perspective of your performance by viewing your pace in relation to your Virtual Partner’s pace, so you can always see at a glance if you're keeping up or falling behind.

This one is going on my wish list. Maybe cool tech gadgets are all I need to motivate me to do exercise. :P

Celebs Without Makeup

Celebs Without Makeup

Check this site out. It has pictures of celebrities without their makeup on. Some of the pics are truly shocking. Take a look at the one of Goldie Hawn. Man, she lost it completely.

Shame on AOL

Nathan Tallack's Journal

Check on the latest entry I posted in my LiveJournal regarding a Slashdot story which talks about AOL blocking all requests from links on LiveJournal sites.

Bastards. AOL should be ashamed of themselves.

Nokia Music Stand

Nokia Accessories: DT-1 Product Details

Now this is just taking things a little too far. I mean, apart from being a nifty little desktop charger and handsfree unit, using it as a sound system is a little far fetched.

I wonder how many of these Nokia will manage to sell. ;)

Sidewinder Emergency Cell Phone Charger

Sidewinder Emergency Cell Phone Charger

Check this nifty little thing out!!! It's bloody small too. What a great idea. Two minutes of charging equals over 6 minutes of talk time, even more standby time. Keep charging and talk indefinitely.

I am going to buy one of these nifty little gadgets!!!

Policy and Procedure Generation

I posted this ages ago in my old blog. Regular readers would have read it already, but I will post it again anyway. A friend that has started working with me remarked about it being posted on my cubical wall, and though it was cool. So here it is again.

Policy and Procedure Generation
Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all the other monkeys with cold water.

After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result - all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it from doing so.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing all of the original monkeys, none of the new monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they know, that's the way it's always been done around here.

And that is how most company and government policy and procedure begins.

Lucky the Audio-Animatronic Dinosaur

Disneyland Update 8/25 - 9/1/2003

Check this thing out. It is a walking talking dinosaur. Pretty cool. There are video files at the bottom of the article.

The swearoxylophone.

Long time readers of my blog will remember this hillarious xylophone that I posted ages ago.

I think it is even funnier than the swearotron that I posted the other day. It deserves a repost. :)

Be warned. Bad audio. Watch the speaker volume. :P

In the washroom.

WTF?

Thank the lord for this page, now everyone can use a japanese toilet with ease!

Comment ability added to posts.

There you go people. As per this cool article in Bloggers excellent Knowledge Base, I have added the ability to put comments in my posts.

I ended up using BlogSpeak. It looks pretty cool, and most important, it was very easy for me to set up in the least amount of time. Fits right in with the lazy theme. :P

Hopefully it works well. Let me know if you have any problems with it. And thanks BlogSpeak. :D

Google Toolbar

Google Toolbar

Just incase you don't use this already. You DEFINATLY want to use it. Especially if you are blessed with the ability to contribute to my blog. :D

Now this is an idea.

Userfriendly Comic Strip

I completly forgot about this trick. Back when I was a lad and we did stuff like this it was a real task to take screenshots and such like. Now days it is easy. Almost too easy. (evil grin)

ThinkGeek :: Our Geek Cams

ThinkGeek :: Our Geek Cams

Check out the geeks in their natural habitat.

Want to contribtue?

I have an idea. Yes, dangerous, I know.

If you are a friend, that is someone I know AND like IRL, and would like to contribute to my blog with posts and links, drop me an email and I will add you as a user.

See how lazy I am! I am so lazy that now I want people to post to my blog for me. (laugh) :P

A thought.

Why doesn't Microsoft include their Power Toys with Windows itself? I mean they are very cool features. Some I can not do without, like Image Resizer.

Sometimes I just don't understand Microsoft.

Eavesdropping on the London Underground

Gossip...What people were overheard saying on the London Underground

A side effect of eavesdropping. :P

Intuitor Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics

Intuitor Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics

Heh. If you are like me and sit through a movie saying "Oh thats just bullshit. Yeah right! That would never happen!", then this is the site for you. :D

A new blog.

Alrighty. Welcome to my new blog page. Yeah, it's a bit yukky, I know. But I am too lazy to change the template from it's default. Maybe I'll get around to it later.

Speaking of lazy, that brings me to my next topic. Why the change? Well, the MovableType software that I ran on my old blog was nice and whatnot, but it was just too time consuming to maintain. So I bought a blogger account and this is really easy to use, so I will just use this for now.

For those who want to see any of my old blog entries, you can still access them from my old blog by clicking on the monthly archive links down the right hand side of the page. It looks kinda empty now that there are no entries on it, but hey, I'll leave it there for a while just incase someone is bored enough to want to read the archives.

Another great thing is Google have updated their toolbar to include this new cool "Blog This" button which makes it much easier for me to make blog entries for cool links that I find. :) See, I told you I was lazy. :P

Anyhow, I have work to do so I better go. Hopefully now that it is easier ot make entries I will make them more frequently. We'll see. :D

Air gun.

ThinkGeek :: Airzooka Air Gun

This thing is sooooo cool. I want one!!! Someone buy one for me. :)

Funny comic.

EIGHT!!!

OMG!!!

8. EIGHT!!!

Read this blog entry from geekgrrls website.

Oh my bloody god. EIGHT!!!

I am NEVER going to be able to get to sleep tonight.

3D StressBall Game.

(laugh) I love this game. Geekgrrl has a blog entry that mentioned a great little ShockWave game called 3DStressBall.

It's a very very addictive game. To quote geekgrrl herself... "If you are a games addict, like I am, I highly suggest that you do not click the following link."

Go on. You know you want to play it. Here is a screenshot I took of it. Click to enlarge.

Looks fun huh. Go on. Click here to play it! You know you want to. :P

Negligent Nathan!

Hello my neglected blog. It is me, Nathan the negligent bloggerer. I have been norty and not making blog entries. :(

I have been soooo busy with work and personal life. Even now I am still at work, close to midnight on a Monday night, building a new server. I figured I would make a blog entry while the server is installing.

So, what has been happening in my boring but eventfull life? My dad is still sick. The radiation therapy is not going so well. He is not too happy these days. It is all pretty hard on my mother too. I hope it all gets better for them soon. I hate seeing them upset like this. I wish I could just make everything better for them. :(

I have hired another junior admin to help out with day to day department stuff. That should let me pay some more attention to the neglected projects that need my attention. He is a guild member, so hopefully he will be a huge help in everything that needs to be done. Fingers crossed.

My best mate has found out that his swollen and sore family jewls (for those who that does not make sense to, I am talking about his beans, you know, his nads, boys, balls, nuts, testicles :D) are caused by one of them (the left I believe) being cancerous. :( Poor bastard has to have it removed. He and his wife were going to try for another child soon, so hopefully the operation will not result in any long term problems in that department. But, as any good mate would, I offered my "services" if he were not up to the task. :P Hey, what are mates for right? I'll take one for the team. ;)

He got an MRI done too. I have asked him to scan it in and email it to me. I'll post it up here when he has. Just for the laughs. :D

Here is a cool pic of I took of my doggie hiding in the long grass where I take him for a walk. See if you can find him ihe pic. It's almost as if he evolved to be hidden in this grass. :P

Anyhow, server install has finished, so I better get back to that. I'll make some more entries later if I find the time.

Till then, love to all. :)
